Tour Highlights

Monday – We travel to Winchester, explore more than 1000 years of medieval history, marvel at the 12th century wall paintings and carvings in the cathedral. You may view the illuminated Bible and see the statue of King Alfred The Great in Broadway. Arriving at our hotel mid-afternoon.
Tuesday – Day of Leisure. You could just take time to enjoy the wonderful delights of Bournemouth, enjoy the Bournemouth’s Gardens or Alum Chine Gardens.

Wednesday – We travel to the highly regarded historic gardens of Compton Acres this morning. While here you will be able to discover the five classically themed gardens including the Italian gardens, the heather gardens, the rock and water gardens, the Japanese gardens and the Wooded Valley. Then onto Poole, with thoroughly modern town with a fantastic maritime heritage, from here we will take a boat cruise to Swanage. Experience the fantastic scenery including Brownsea Island, Old Harrys Rock and the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO heritage site whilst the captain gives you a captivating live commentary. We will have some free time in the lovely town of Swanage. From Swanage, we board a steam train ride to Norden, on this scenic journey you will have the opportunity to admire the ruins of Corfe Castle. (admissions included)
Thursday – The Italian Palace of Kington Lacy is a graceful country mansion set in stunning formal gardens with extensive parkland. Not only does it have a Japanese Garden complete with authentic tea house and Kitchen Garden but is also home to beautiful carvings, family souvenirs and paintings from famous artistes such as Rubens, Van Dyck and Brueghel. It also has the largest privately-owned collection of Egyptian artefacts in the world. (admissions included) In the afternoon, we travel to Wimborne Minster, a truly beautiful market town with a great heritage. Sitting on the banks of the River Stour and Allen, the surrounding gardens are magnificent so enjoy a walk or venture into the quaint and vintage town centre.
Friday – There will be a lunch break at Bicester before returning home in the afternoon
