Christmas in Scotland

Sitting on the Southern Peninsula of Argyll and Bute is the town of Dunoon. The ruins of the castle still sit proudly on the headland and the views from here are superb. The castle was once a Royal Castle and boasted three towers which formed a triangle, making the castle one of the strongest in the area. The town itself has some wonderful traditional stone buildings including a Celtic cross monument which pays homage to the two main Scottish Clans of the Area

The Selborne Hotel -Dunoon

Superbly situated looking south across the Clyde with pleasant lawns reaching down to the promenade and water’s edge. All the public rooms and many of the bedrooms offer uninterrupted views of the river which is a constant source of interest. Ground floor areas include a TV lounge, bar lounge with dance floor, quiet lounge and games room.
Selborne hotel has 98 bedrooms with central heating and private bath or shower and WC. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and TV with radio channels. Note for clients with a mobility impairment: this hotel has twelve ground floor bedrooms. There is level access to the bar, restaurant, lounges and all ground floor rooms from Reception and the main entrance. Bedroom floors have small changes of level and are served by the lift to the half landing. The third floor rooms in a section of the hotel are not served by the lift. Please ensure you submit a Special Requirements form if you are mobility impaired

Tour Highlights

Sunday – Travelling to Scotland with regular breaks enroute. Once we arrive at the hotel the manager will greet you with a Sherry Reception and your arrival dinner will be served later in the evening. With an evening of Music, Dancing and Entertainment.

Monday – Christmas Eve - Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with some free time, maybe explore the town and do some last-minute shopping.

Tuesday – Christmas Day - A leisurely breakfast this morning, open your presents and enjoy the atmosphere within the hotel. At 1pm a full festive lunch with all the traditional trimmings including a visit from Father Christmas. At 3pm The Queens Speech will be followed by Afternoon Tea with mince pies and festive games. On the evening, there will a Christmas Party for everyone.

Wednesday – Boxing Day – After a relaxed breakfast, you could take a stroll around the town or simply soak up the atmosphere in the hotel. At lunchtime enjoy a glass of mulled wine before enjoying Boxing Day Lunch. After our evening meal, there will be a farewell Fancy Dress Party with prizes, dancing and entertainment.
