Monday – We will stop for lunch at Weston Super Mare, before arriving at our hotel in the afternoon to relax before your evening meal.
Tuesday – A day of leisure. You could take a ride on the lovely cliff railway down to Oddicombe Beach or stroll along the small pier at Babbacombe Beach. Take the time to visit the model village with its thousands of houses and miles of railway track or spend the afternoon in Bygones Museums a three-storey building with street scenes and products from recent history.
Wednesday - Today we travel to Buckfast Abbey, this year it will be celebrating its 1000 years of history. People have come here to withdraw from the fast pace of life and instil within themselves a sense of peace and tranquillity. The Abbey is also very famous for its very large herd of deer which roam within the grounds. From here we will travel on to Buckfast Leigh to visit the Butterfly and Otter sanctuary. Here you will be able to experience some of the wonderful and often strange life of a butterfly, walk through a hot house to see the butterflies flying loose, go and visit the otters and their young living within their natural habitat. Then we will board a steam train on the South Devon Railway travel for over an hour through some of the most glorious scenery to Totnes following the majestic River Dart. (admissions included) Our coach will meet you at the Railway station, to take you into Totnes. The town of Totnes has a long and fascinating heritage, the Castle sitting in the heart of the town, before returning through the English Rivera coastline, with some free time at Brixham if time permits.
Thursday – Today we travel to Powderham Castle, the stunning home of the Earl of Devon, our tour will let you discover the highlights of this Castle with over 600 years of history. (admissions included) In the afternoon, we will take a scenic drive through some of the most beautiful Devonshire coastlines, onto Dawlish with its glorious beaches and then onto Tynemouth with its Castle and Priory sitting dramatically on the landscape.
Friday – Travel home stopping enroute for lunch at Burnham on Sea, returning in the afternoon.
