Monday – Today we travel for lunch at Weston Super Mare, a very traditional seaside resort with a fabulous Central Pier, miles of sandy beaches and a recently refurbished promenade. Enjoy lunch here before arriving at the hotel in the afternoon.
Tuesday – A day of leisure maybe you could take the cliff railway down to Oddicombe Beach. Take a walk along the small pier or visit the Bygones Museum in the town. In our hotel its Christmas Day, Father Christmas will visit the hotel, in the evening there will be a full Christmas Dinner with entertainment on the evening.
Wednesday – This morning we travel to Exeter, the Capital of Devon. Surrounded by a stunning Roman Wall and home to the magnificent Exeter Cathedral. We will have some free time so explore the Cathedral or visit the quayside with its fascinating Visitors Centre and Museum based in the old Customs House. Inside you will experience the stories of local people, hear how trading with onboard ships and the quayside changed this whole area. Then onto Sidmouth which is nestled between majestic sandstone cliffs, on the Jurassic Coastline. The charming gardens that surround the town and Regency era buildings will transport you back in time. In our hotel its Boxing Day, so this evening you will have the option to attend the Babbacombe Theatre Show (ticket prices will apply).
Thursday – Travel via Newton Abbott to visit Buckfast Abbey with some free time with its 1000 years of history. During this time people have come here to withdraw from the fast pace of live and instil within themselves a sense of peace and tranquillity. The Abbey is also very famous for its very large herd of deer which roam within the grounds. We continue through to Totnes, following a scenic route passing the River Dart then onto Brixham where you can have some free time. Onto to Paignton and Torquay through the scenic English Riviera Coastline. In our hotel its New Year’s Eve, this evening the will be a buck fizz reception followed by a New Year’s Party with live entertainment to bring in the New year.
Friday – returning with a lunch break enroute.
