Monday - As we travel to Eastbourne we will stop enroute for a lunchbreak at Windsor, arriving at the hotel in the afternoon.
Tuesday – A day of leisure to enjoy Eastbourne. Maybe take a stroll and see some beautiful views of Beachy Head, the highest chalk sea cliff in the UK. Alternatively, you could visit the Redoubt Fort, built to keep the Napoleonic armies out of Britain, it now tells the story of over 200 years of naval history. Just a short walk in a sheltered location at the western most end of Eastbourne is the Italian Gardens, with a quiet place to simply enjoy the views.
Wednesday – Bodiam Castle is set in the heart of the historic landscape. Dating from the 14th century it is considered to be one of the Britain’s most picturesque and romantic ancient monuments. The gate house still has the original wooden portcullis, and the interiors give a wonderful impression of castle life. The castle is outlined by a fabulous moat, giving you wonderful reflections in the still waters, the grounds are simple and stunning with the landscape taking the lead, with wooded areas and beautiful vistas. (admissions included) In the afternoon we enjoy free time at Battle before returning to the hotel.
Thursday - Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens have been a prison, the home of the Women’s Land Army and the family home to many fascinating people. Vita Sackville West and Harold, made many significant changes to the house and gardens. From the top of the Tower, you can witness vast panoramic views of the farm and the 450-acre wider estate. The rose garden, a truly inspiration place, originally designed and created by Vita Sackville West, now holds one of the most comprehensive ranges of roses in the United Kingdom.
Friday - As we travel back we will stop enroute for a lunchbreak arriving back in the afternoon
