Tour Itinerary

DAY 1. Enjoy a leisurely drive with a lunch break en route, arriving at our hotel in the afternoon.

DAY 2. This morning, we will drive to the Lake District taking a scenic route along Ullswater, the second largest lake in the National Park. We will arrive at Pooley Bridge pier and enjoy an hours Ullswater Steamer Cruise to the south side of the lake to Glenridding. We will rejoin our coach and make our way to nearby Derwent Water Lake, stopping at the pretty town of Keswick where we have free time for
lunch, before heading to The Lakes Distillery England’s largest distillery.

DAY 3. Today we travel to the delightful South Tynedale Railway Experience, here we will ride a train on the highest narrow-gauge railway in England through the North Pennines an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This railway is famous for running two engines known as a top and tail, where one engine pushes and other pulls. After our glorious train ride, we shall spend some time in Alston, with a distinctive market cross and many buildings dating from 17th century, it will be great place to find some lunch. We return to the hotel in the afternoon, where you can relax or spend your time visiting
Gilsland.

DAY 4. Dumfries and Robert Burns house where he spent the last years of life before he died in 1796. Some of his most famous poetry included, ‘Red Rose’ and ‘Auld Lang Syne’. Then onto Carlisle, take some time to visit the Cathedral with its stunning Stained Glass, painted ceiling and very distinctive crypt.

DAY 5. Travelling back with a lunch break en route, arriving home in the afternoon.
