Monday –Travelling to Torquay stopping enroute for a lunch break at Western Super Mare. Arriving at our hotel in the afternoon.
Tuesday – We begin with a coastal tour of Devon, following the shore road, we pass through Teignmouth and Dawlish and continue north to the Cathedral City of Exeter. We take a break here and have time to explore before continuing along the Exe estuary to the pleasant resort of Exmouth. Here we have time for lunch before we embark on a cruise around the River Exe discovering the history, beauty and wild life of the river. (admissions included)
Wednesday - Day of leisure, why not enjoy a gentle stroll down the sandy beaches or the genteel Victorian appearance of the town. Or why not explore Torquay’s harbour or museum!
Thursday – In the morning we drive into Newton Abbot where today is market day. Browse around the stalls and look around the town where you can purchase lunch before heading to Buckfastleigh. Here we join the South Devon Railway. Originally a Great Western Railway Branch Line, the line hugs the Dart estuary on the journey to Totnes. (admissions included) On arrival, you can stretch your legs before the return journey. This afternoon we head into South Hams region of Devon, first taking a break in Kingsbridge, ‘capital of South Devon’, with chance to look around the pleasant town. If time permits we head for delightful Dartmouth with its many naval connections including The Royal Naval College. Here you can enjoy a lovely stroll along the busy harbour or just sit and watch the boats.
Friday – Travelling back with a lunch break at Burnham on Sea, arriving home in the afternoon.
