Osborne Hotel -Ilfracombe

This friendly family run Victorian hotel is close to both the town and the beach, allowing you to access the area really easily. The Traditional onsite restaurant offers entertainment and good honest fayre.

Tour Highights

Monday – Today we travel to our hotel via Tiverton. Here we will enjoy a ride on the horse drawn boat cruise on the canal. Enjoy the commentary and tales of the canal along the way and enjoy life at a more sedate pace, enjoy a lunch break before continuing for our evening meal at the hotel.
Tuesday – In the morning we travel to Exmoor national park to Minehead. The largest town with its long flat sandy beach, with a promenade and glorious views towards Exmoor. This is a truly beautiful seas side so take advantage of the sun and enjoy an ice-cream. Butlin’s is one of the major features of the town so maybe call in and take advantage of some stunning facilities there. This afternoon we will enjoy free time in Lynton and Lynmouth, surrounded by magnificent scenery, its coastline is unequalled by any other resort on England’s Shore. Its known as England’s Little Switzerland, so enjoy the views and maybe take a ride on the funicular tram ride between the two towns.
Wednesday - A day of leisure. You could get a boat ride to Lundy Island a two hours boat cruise, to see some of the most spectacular wildlife in the area or even visit Chambercombe Manor, mentioned in the Domesday Book an 11th century Manor House with stunning creamery onsite just perfect for one of our famous cream teas or simply sit and relax on the beautiful beach.
Thursday –– Barnstaple Pannier Market with its wonderful mix of heritage, new and traditional traders making it a lovely place to browse. This afternoon we call at Quincey Honey Farm with eight rooms of interactive displays showing how honey is produced and how the wildlife and landscape interact. (admission included) From here we visit South Molton a town sitting on the very edge of Exmoor. This traditional market town with a Guildhall sitting prominently in the centre of the town. Returning to our hotel travelling past Exmoor Zoo, the Wildlife Dinosaur Park and Watermouth Castle.
Friday – Before returning home we will visit Minehead on West Somerset Railway, it has a beautiful nostalgic feel, where you will be transported back through time to the golden age of steam. You will exit the railway at Bishops Lydeard which has a delightfully restored working watermill and a blacksmiths shop. (admission included) Returning home in the afternoon
