Monday – Travelling to Weymouth we will stop for a lunch break at Western-Super-Mare for a lunch break.
Tuesday – The Tank Museum in Bovington tells the story of armoured vehicles from World War One onwards. With over 300 vehicles on show and personal stories from the people who fought with them, see the world’s first ever tank – Little Willie, the feared German Tiger Tank and a modern-day Challenger 2. We then board a steam train, on the Swanage Railway. An award winning standard gauge railway located in Dorset. We travel through the six miles of beautiful Purbeck scenery passing the magnificent ruins of Corfe Castle before arriving at the blue flag beach at Swanage. A picture postcard Victorian town, with a splendid pier nestled at the start of the Jurassic Coastline. (admissions included)
Wednesday – A leisure day for you to enjoy the lovely seaside town, with its stunning harbour. Take a stroll around the beautiful Greenhill Gardens or maybe take a tour of the Stuart Wiltshire Glass.
Thursday – Today we visit the Fleet Air Arm Museum, which houses the largest collection of Royal Navy Air memorabilia. (admissions included) With over 30 historic aircraft, and well over 30,000 artefacts showcasing the history of both the service and personal records of those who have served our country. An opportunity to see how the Air Arm of the British Navy has contributed to the defence of our country. From here we visit Yeovil, a Roman market town in South Somerset, it has a varied history dating from Saxon times. Now it famous for the manufacture of military helicopters. Our final stop is the pretty town of Sherbourne, with a superb Abbey, stunning medieval buildings and two castles to explore.
Friday – Returning home with a lunch break at Burnham on Sea, arriving back in the afternoon.
