Monday – As we travel north to Scotland, we will have regular comfort stops and a lunch break enroute.
Tuesday – In the morning we will take the two-hour journey to Mallaig, made famous by the Harry Potter movies, absorbing the views of lochs, mountains, Glenfinnan Viaduct, Loch Morar and the small isles of Eigg, Muck and Rum. In Mallaig we have arranged a one-hour boat cruise sailing out towards the Isles with regular sightings if whales, dolphins, and sea eagles. The road journey back is very different, we stop off in Glenfinnan to Bonnie Prince Charlie’s monument, the 21-arched viaduct and Loch Shiel. Then onwards to Banavies Neptune’s Staircase and the Caledonian Canal.
Wednesday - Today we board the train in Inverness for “one of the most beautiful rail Journeys in Europe” – Michael Palin. We then embark on a two-and-a-half-hour journey to Kyle of Lochalsh continuing to the Isle of Skye with time for sightseeing. Returning to the hotel through the glorious Highland grandeur.
Thursday – With some free time in Aviemore in the morning before boarding the Steam train from Aviemore to Broomhill, join us for a truly memorable trip through the heart of the Scottish Highlands, taking in the stunning surroundings of the Speyside and Cairngorms National Park.
Friday – As we travel south, we will have regular comfort stops and a lunch break enroute.
